A 25-year-old man was beaten by a group of boys for asking them to move to let him pass. The episode occurred late Saturday evening in Via Ferrante, in the historic center of Caserta, an area very popular with young people due to the presence of bars and clubs.
The young man, who had come to dinner in Caserta with his girlfriend, had set the navigator to go home, but he found himself by mistake on a congested street. He asked several boys to move, but some of them turned a deaf ear. When the young man said he was lost and not from Caserta, the boys realized he was a stranger and attacked him.
The young man was headbutted in the face and then kicked and punched. He was rescued by some passers-by and taken to the hospital, where he was found to have a compound fracture of the nasal bones, various bruises and lacerated contused wounds.
The victim reported the incident to the police, who began an investigation to identify those responsible.
Deputy Borrelli's complaint
The episode prompted a reaction from the Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who commented: “It is truly absurd what happens nowadays. One goes out to spend a pleasant evening and then finds himself in hospital. And this is not even the worst, because other times it has come to tragedy. So much brutal and unmotivated violence makes no sense at all, and yet it is a reality that is increasingly taking over.
Remedies? First of all, let's start by increasing the penalties for these barbarians, or rather, by ensuring that there are penalties, because too often these scoundrels get away with little or nothing.
We also need to work on prevention, investing in young people and the culture of legality. We cannot tolerate that our cities are prey to these violent people, who ruin the lives of those who simply want to have fun in a healthy way”.
