Investigators have identified the two attackers of the nurses in the emergency room of the San Leonardo hospital in Castellammare di Stabia. They are a man and a woman, both from Castellammare di Stabia.
The woman was identified as the person who started beating the two nurses, while the man was identified thanks to the testimonies of other witnesses.
The two attackers were in the emergency room caring for a sick relative. Investigators assisted them by acquiring footage from the hospital's internal surveillance video.
The two attackers will be charged with the crime of violence against a healthcare professional, a crime recently introduced by the new legislation introduced by the Meloni government.
Anna Procida's lawyer: "We demand justice."
The lawyer of one of the two nurses, Anna Procida, declared: We demand justice and are confident we will achieve it as soon as possible. We have received full cooperation from the judiciary. This defense has confidence in the work of the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office, which has already shown great sensitivity and attention to the matter.
This investigation is progressing rapidly, and Prosecutor Fragliasso promptly filed a criminal complaint. We hope the perpetrators will be identified as soon as possible and the doctors will be able to regain the peace of mind needed to return to work in complete safety.
The lawyer also reiterated the call to reinstate police presence in hospitals, as requested by the two attacked sisters and by Giuseppe Russo, director general of the ASL NA3.
