Castellammare. Shortly after 22,30:XNUMX pm yesterday evening during the normal territorial control services the carabinieri noticed a Fiat Panda in the city center, dark in color, dark balaclavas worn by the three in the passenger compartment.
The license plate is that of a car stolen a few hours earlier. The carabinieri have no doubts. They turn around, turn on their flashing lights and sirens: the chase begins.
The man driving the small car doesn't need any other cues to accelerate, foot pressed on the pedal, only thinking about escape.
He is skilled and, thanks to the compact size of the car, he manages to find his way around the streets of the Stabia centre. The soldiers do not give up on him, certain that sooner or later anxiety and haste will take over the wheel.
The prediction proves correct when the car enters a very narrow alley.
It is better to flee on foot, but the doors cannot be opened because the walls of the houses and some parked cars prevent it.

The carabinieri choose to follow the driver, the other two disappear in a few moments.
The man takes refuge in a building, runs furiously to the upper floors. The two soldiers know that he has no escape. They block the elevator to prevent him from other escape routes and in the meantime they follow him.
They will find him hidden in the darkness of the utility room, on the top floor of the building. Still wearing his balaclava and gloves.
