A large-scale drug trafficking ring run by Chinese individuals along the Castrovillari-Salerno route was busted by the Catanzaro DDA, which placed five Chinese nationals in handcuffs and led to the discovery and seizure of a drug trafficking center, set up in an industrial warehouse in the Castrovillari PIP area, which contained 580 kilograms of drugs.

Other arrests had been carried out in recent weeks in Holland, where the drug was being sold, at the instigation of the prosecutor Vincenzo Capomolla and the district prosecutor Stefania Paparazzo.
According to what has been learned, in the warehouse discovered yesterday, the police seized 580 kilos of narcotic substance ready to be placed on the local and international market.
It all started when officers from the Corigliano Rossano Police Station, led by Giuseppe Zanfini, and those from the Cosenza Flying Squad, led by Gabriele Presti, raided a warehouse in Santa Sofia d'Epiro last July, seizing another 250 kilos of marijuana grown and produced using advanced management systems.

During the operation, an apartment in a central area of Castrovillari was also discovered, where the narcotics were packaged and managed for the regional and international markets. Drugs ready for sale and a large amount of cash were seized there.
