There are currently three episodes in which the influencer Chiara Ferragni appears to be under investigation for fraud.
This information emerges from a document with which the Milan prosecutor's office had raised questions to the Court of Cassation regarding the territorial jurisdiction of the individual episodes contested to Ferragni.
The Attorney General of the Supreme Court will have to determine which prosecutor's office will handle each case, based on where the crime was allegedly committed.
The investigation, conducted by the Guardia di Finanza, began in Cuneo, Piedmont, where the Balocco company has its registered office. The investigation also examined the roles of the directors of the companies with which Chiara Ferragni had contracts as a testimonial.
The Deputy Prosecutor of Milan, Fusco, who entrusted the investigation to the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza, sent last Thursday to the Attorney General of the Court of Cassation, pursuant to article 54-bis of the code of criminal procedure, the document with which he raised the conflict between the offices of the public prosecutor.
The aim is to clarify which prosecutor's office should deal with the Pink Christmas pandoro affair. In this context, the other two cases were also brought to attention, namely that of the chocolate eggs and the doll, known as "Mascotte Chiara Ferragni", produced in collaboration with Trudi, the Friulian company acquired in 2019 by Giochi Preziosi, with registered office in Milan.
Initially, the crime hypothesis was commercial fraud, but later it became aggravated fraud. Now the decision is up to the deputy attorney general of the Supreme Court, considering that the only prosecutor's office to have raised the issue of jurisdiction is that of Cuneo, led by Onelio Dodero.
At the moment, the documents relating to the complaint announced by Codacons in recent days, regarding the 2020 campaign to raise funds against Covid through a limited-edition “capsule collection” created together with Oreo, have not been received by the Milanese public prosecutors.
