The award, which will be presented on March 9 in Milan, recognizes the efforts of municipalities in the fight against illegal waste disposal, awareness-raising in the territory, urban waste management and collaboration with the non-profit organization.
The Vice President of the Chamber, Fabio Rampelli, praised the commendable actions carried out by the 111 Administrations and underlined the commitment of the Plastic Free Onlus in involving more and more municipalities towards the common goal of reducing plastic waste. The founder and president of Plastic Free Onlus, Luca De Gaetano, also highlighted the importance of concrete actions for the environment and the active involvement of local administrators.
“Our applause goes to all 111 Administrations for the meritorious actions they carry out in the territories”. He then praised Plastic Free Onlus for its commitment to involving more and more municipalities towards the common goal of reducing plastic waste and added: “Plastic islands are unfortunately a reality even in our seas and we must work not only to collect it but to ensure that it no longer disperses into the environment.
We must deliver to the new generations a better Planet that is not poorer every day”. Luca De Gaetano, founder and president of Plastic Free Onlus, underlined: “Since the last edition we have registered an almost doubling of the awards, proving the ever-increasing attention that the municipal administrations place on this award”
