Not just Serie A. If the Panchina d'Oro celebrates the best coach of our top league, those to be rewarded - always with regards to the 2022/2023 season - will also be the coaches of the Serie B and Serie C men's teams, Serie A and Serie B women's teams, Serie A five-a-side football teams - both men's and women's - and the best youth sector manager in Italy, who will receive the award named after 'Mino Favini'.

As for Serie A, Serie B and Serie C men, the voting will take place that morning, while in the other cases online consultations will be held before the day of January 29 to decree the winners of the various categories. For futsal, the voting is handled by the Five-a-side Football Division.

The latest edition. The triumphant one year ago at Coverciano – after two editions 'at home' due to Covid – was the current coach of Milan, Stefano Pioli, who received the Golden Bench for Serie A 2021/2022, the season that culminated with the Rossoneri's Scudetto. The Silver Bench went to Fabio Pecchia, protagonist of the promotion from B to A at the helm of Cremonese, and the Golden Bench Serie C went to Silvio Baldini, who had led Palermo to promotion to Serie B.

For women's football, the Panchina d'oro went to Joe Montemurro (Juventus) and Panchina d'argento went to Sebastian de la Fuente (Como Women), while for futsal the Panchina d'oro went to Fulvio Colini (Italservice Pesaro) for men and Panchina d'oro for women to Massimiliano Neri (Città di Falconara). The 'Mino Favini' award for the best youth sector manager went to Francesco Palmieri of Sassuolo.

Among the teachers who spoke during the refresher course, two world champion coaches such as Lionel Scaloni, technical commissioner of Argentina who won at Qatar 2022, and Fefé De Giorgi, the number one of the Italian volleyball team who rose to the top of the world in the summer of 2022.

The regulation. The Golden Bench ceremony is held during a mandatory refresher course for professional coaches. For the men's Golden and Silver Bench, all coaches from the two top leagues, both from last season and this season, have the right to vote.
