The big moment is expected for Wednesday 3 January 2024 at 16.30 pm, when the maestro Domenico Sepe, in the suggestive and refined Hall of Mirrors of the Grand Hotel Parker's in Napoli, will unveil his new artistic project dedicated to the Siren Partenope, the legendary creature at the basis of the birth of the City of Naples.
The January 3rd meeting will feature the Avallone family, owners of Naples's oldest hotel, and the director of Parker's, Andrea Prevosti, confirming the prestigious Neapolitan hotel's ongoing commitment to hosting cultural events and prominent figures in the contemporary art world, including major exhibitions.
The presentation event will precede the opening of a large temporary exhibition curated by journalist and writer Michelangelo Iossa, during which the sculptor will display for the first time some of his works dedicated to the Siren Parthenope. It will also be possible to admire the work-in-progress model of the new monumental sculpture dedicated to the Siren herself.
The meeting will offer all participants the opportunity to engage with the artist, promoting an exhibition that aims to be a contemporary experience, connecting with Parker's wonderful collection of bronzes, inspired by the ancient statues of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
2024 will mark the beginning of a collaboration between Maestro Sepe and the Grand Hotel Parker's: the artist will contribute to the cataloging of the sculptures in the hotel's collection.
The exhibition project will allow maestro Sepe's works to interact directly with viewers, transcending conventional spaces thanks to an exhibition ready to go "beyond spaces".
Domenico Sepe is currently present at the Grand Hotel Parker's with 14 previously unseen works dedicated to Ian Fleming, author of the books that inspired the James Bond film series, as part of the exhibition "Parker's Meets Bond," curated by Michelangelo Iossa. During the meeting on January 3rd, the artist will present the curator with a new bas-relief dedicated to the English novelist Fleming.
After the preview, access to the exhibition will be granted by registering your presence by email to: scultura.domenicosepe@hotmail.it.
