"The three days dedicated to the Epiphany - Manfredi declares It's an opportunity to revitalize commerce and the city's traditions. This is all part of a cultural and tourism program we're pursuing, which must include promoting Naples' iconic sites, such as those in the Second Municipality.
Our priority has always been to identify and promote the organization of events in spaces made increasingly accessible to citizens and visitors, also reviving ancient traditions, and Epiphany in Piazza Mercato fits into this vision."
According to Councillor Armato "Reviving Epiphany Night in Piazza Mercato, with three days of events, and revitalizing it as we did last year, is a further opportunity to shine a spotlight on the area around Piazza Mercato and Piazza del Carmine, which we, as an administration and in collaboration with the Second Municipality, are promoting.
It is no coincidence that at Easter and in the summer we have organised concerts and tours here to discover the churches with guided itineraries, which also included the area of Borgo OreficiAnd then there will be shops open on the night of January 5th in the surrounding streets, an important sign of synergy between institutions, associations and commercial entities."
Light decorations and 54 wooden houses, 40 on Piazza del Carmine and 14 in Piazza Mercato, characterize a Befana village with sellers of toys, sweets for stockings and street food.
The Epiphany in Piazza Mercato, which will end with the concert of Enzo Gragnaniello on January 5th at 20.30pm in Piazza Mercato, is financed by the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Napoli as part of the program of events “See Naples at Christmas and then come back” and is organized by the cultural association Musicant, in collaboration with Municipality 2, the natural shopping centers Antiche botteghe tessuti and Borgo Orefici, the Community Foundation of the Historic Center of Naples, the association Play and other local businesses linked to the local production fabric.
After the opening with the performance of the Choir of the City of Naples directed by the master Carlo Morelli in the church of Sant'Eligio, scheduled for tomorrow, January 4th at 20.00:5 pm Christmas Day “A Christmas for everyone” always in the Church of Sant'Eligio with the university choir “Joseph Grima”. On January XNUMXth, instead, the shops in Corso Umberto (from Piazza Borsa to Piazza Garibaldi) and those in Forcella will be open until late at night.
