The soldiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Napoli, in recent days, have donated to various charitable associations, non-profit organizations and ecclesiastical bodies present in the Campania region, with the authorization of the competent Judicial Authorities, numerous assets seized in the context of the institutional activities of the Department employees.
These are mostly denatured alcohol, pasta and clothing, with the aim of providing support to the poorest and neediest people. In particular, over 37 thousand liters of denatured alcohol, previously seized by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Naples, were recently donated to the Italian Red Cross. This product will be used as a disinfectant/sanitizer in the management of the migratory emergency currently underway on the island of Lampedusa.
During the Christmas holidays, 2 quintals of pasta bearing the false Protected Geographical Indication “Pasta di Gragnano” were delivered to the Red Cross, seized by the Company Castellammare di StabiaThe donation was arranged after food safety checks by specialized personnel of the Regional Reference Center for the safety of public and collective catering and traditional agri-food production (C.Ri.PAT).
More generally, last year the Neapolitan Fiamme Gialle donated to 26 different associations and charities in the metropolitan area - after removing false labels to avoid linking the items to counterfeit brands - over 85.000 items including clothing (jackets, shirts, shorts and shoes) and toys depicting various characters loved by children.
These activities, once again testify to the strong social vocation that inspires the work of the Guardia di Finanza, with the promotion of solidarity initiatives and constant collaboration with various voluntary associations present in the territory, actively contributing to the support of the weakest sections of the population.
