Created by the Mendozzi Foundation, the book will be given to the grandchildren of the guests of the facility to continue the story of the Salerno that does not forget.
The new year begins with many ambitious projects for the Carlo Mendozzi Foundation; the first event took place yesterday, January 4, at the Casa Albergo Immacolata Concezione, managed by Salerno Solidale Spa, with the presentation of the book “La Salerno che non dimenticare, le memorie dei nostri anziani”, a collection of testimonies and memories of the elderly, who for the Epiphany will give it to their grandchildren, donating with it their own stories. The book, created by the Carlo Mendozzi Foundation after listening to the guests of the facility, aims to be a collection of testimonies and thoughts to keep alive the memory and historical memory of many Salerno citizens.

The project was desired by the Carlo Mendozzi Foundation and by the lawyer Filomena Arcieri, Administrator of Salerno Solidale SpA, to transmit the historical memory of the elderly, sometimes underestimated or forgotten, which instead is a precious resource for everyone, young and old.
“As per its mission, the Carlo Mendozzi Foundation is committed to working in close collaboration with the local community to convey value even through small gestures – says Sergio Galzigna, secretary of the Carlo Mendozzi Foundation – with the book - Salerno that does not forget, the memories of our elders - we wanted first of all to listen to the elders, a precious activity that is often underestimated by some young people. The elders are history, our memory, they are the past necessary to read the future of what we will be, and they must not be forgotten”.
