A return to the music he had been thinking about for some time and which takes place on the occasion of a historic event for Neapolitan song.
Singer-songwriter Francesco Mennillo, originally from the Piscinola neighborhood, is among the finalists of the Naples New Generation Festival, the glorious event that has returned to prominence in recent years thanks to the efforts of artistic director Massimo Abbate and the invaluable collaboration of musical director Lino Pariota.
An artistic commission, chaired by Abbate himself, has selected 400 songs and 20 respective performers from 20 proposals for the final. Francesco Mennillo will propose the song entitled 'O Rré.
“A text that I had in the drawer for some time and that I was particularly fond of - declares the artist, who adds - deals with the figure of grandparents and how they accompany or have accompanied our existence and mark it with love. “'O Rrè”, in this case, my grandfather Francesco, through stories and a life dedicated to work, was my bridge to the past and an example for the future”.

A musical tale, written in the Neapolitan language and composed by the Neapolitan singer-songwriter, that oscillates from the modern to the ancient, between nostalgia and awareness and recalls the post-war musical bands that characterized the neighborhoods of Naples and the provincial cities.
Among Mennillo's publications, the album "L'amore, il sesso e la noia" from 2010 and the single "Malato di rancore" from 2013, a song that narrates the drama of the land of fires, plus other experiences of production and artistic direction of recording projects. In 2014 he published the book of short stories "Buongiorno e addio".
“I am happy to return to express myself in music and on a prestigious occasion like the Naples Festival” concludes Mennillo, who last December was awarded the Campania Terra Felix Prize for his commitment to local journalism.
