Pianist Francesco Turrisi, one of the very few Italians to have won a Grammy Award, has been called an 'alchemist' and a 'musical polyglot' by the international press. Northern Migrations, his latest album conceived for solo piano, "delicate, melancholic and compelling" according to «The Irish Times» was presented in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, the United States and New Zealand, to land for the first time at the Casa del Jazz in Rome.
Francesco Turrisi is part of the ancient music ensemble l'Arpeggiata with which he has performed at the most important festivals and theaters around the world, from Carnegie Hall in New York to Queen Elisabeth Hall in London, recording for important labels such as Warner, Virgin, Naive and Alpha. Since 2018 he has collaborated with the famous American singer and multi-instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens. In 2019 the single I'm on my way received a Grammy Award nomination while the second album, They're calling me home, released with the Nonesuch record label, received two Grammy nominations, winning a Grammy Award in 2022 in the Best Folk Album category.
