Over the weekend, at the Italian Green Factory site in Via Argine, the former factory Whirlpool it was the object of a theft by unknown persons.
The general secretary of the Fiom Cgil of Naples, Mauro Cristiani, made this unpleasant situation known, underlining the importance of intensifying the control of the territory by the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters of Naples.
According to Cristiani, the theft affected an area of the production site that played a significant role during a long dispute, later becoming a symbol of legality and social participation.
For this reason, Fiom expresses solidarity with the affected company and asks the institutions to ensure that the reindustrialization process can proceed without obstacles, protecting a symbolic place that has become the heritage of the entire Neapolitan community.
Fiom also calls on the authorities to strengthen surveillance of the area, which has long been the object of economic interests of organised crime, and to identify and bring to justice those responsible for this serious criminal act.
