The disconcerting images that reach us from the Submerged Park - Marine Protected Area of gaiola they bring back to us a well-known reality, already denounced too many times.
Next to a place of rare beauty, a treasure chest of history, culture, legend, cradle of biodiversity, here appears with every heavy rain, a sea of plastic, unsorted waste that floods the Gaiola beach. Once again the Neapolitan Delegation of Marevivo shouts its indignation!
Although the first Implementation Decrees of the Salvamare Law have been approved, no corrective measures are yet being studied; indeed, for Cala Badessa and the Scolmatoio, the first projects presented by Invitalia aim to increase the capacity of the existing pipelines and to design other submerged ones.

At the same time, it is absolutely necessary that the cultural transition takes root in consciences, so that the production of plastic and its derivatives is drastically reduced upstream. We are all responsible for this but also key players.
"Tomorrow, Marevivo will be present at the event taking place at Gaiola, a Marine Protected Area established over twenty years ago by our Foundation, and will work to ensure that the Basin Authority implements the Implementing Decrees, including through a dam along the Stura River," concludes Attorney Mariagiorgia de Gennaro, who has been following Marevivo's efforts closely.
