“Della storia di GG” is a black comedy about a woman dealing with the painful loss of her father and feeling an uncontrollable attraction to the man who is tasked with burying him.
A work that lends itself well to a good dose of black humor, based on the story by Mariagrazia Rispoli, with dramaturgy by Gea Martire and direction by Mariano Lamberti. Due to its distinctive grotesque and ironic tone, the monologue of Della storia di GG can easily be classified as a black comedy. The idea is to render, through two distinct characters, two contrasting emotions within the same person (pain and pleasure, mourning and Eros), representing this sort of psychic split with two different personalities.
From the removal of the pain of loss, a double self is generated that acts, feels and lives in a diametrically opposed way: as much as one is fragile, mournful and expresses itself with true and painful tones, as much as the other is wicked, mocking and uses provincial femme fatale tones. The two characters alternate, they hold hands, other times they wage war, in a sort of schizophrenic merry-go-round that gradually becomes more and more grotesque and funny.
