“I am very pleased with the approval of the disability card, which represents a milestone in ensuring equal rights for all disabled people in Europe: a result we have been waiting for since it was announced as a flagship initiative within the European Disability Strategy 2021-2030 and which we are finally seeing taking concrete shape”.
The MEP says this in a note Clear Gemma (Fratelli dItalia-Ecr), on the sidelines of the work of the Employment and Social Affairs Commission (Empl) of the European Parliament, which today approved its negotiating mandate on the proposal to establish the European Disability Card and parking for people with disabilities.
“The negotiations we conducted to reach the approved text were concluded in record time and with the utmost cooperation from all political groups,” the statement continues, “demonstrating that the creation of a truly European disability card is a priority.

All the amendments I tabled were included in the final text, an achievement that fills me with pride, because inclusion has always been at the top of my political agenda.
