From January 26th 'Capa fresca', Giovanni Vernia's tour directed by Giampiero Solari and Paola Galassi, produced by VentiDieci and Top Agency
"Artificial intelligence is taking away our imagination - we read in a note -. Social networks intoxicate us with frustration. Algorithms decide everything for us. There's no room for imagination anymore. We feel free, but we live increasingly isolated and embittered. The antidote, true freedom, is Capa Fresca.
'Capa Fresca' is a rich, extremely contemporary and, indeed, fresh production: it ranges from stand-up to musical moments, from dance to moments of satire on current events, maintaining a constant intelligent and never vulgar comedy, as is the Artist's style.
“It's a show I've been looking forward to. - says Giovanni Vernia-. It's full of madness. It's liberating. It's a mood booster. It's my way of intervening when I see something wrong. I wanted to give a gift to the audience who have followed me for so long by coming up with a truly unique stage design. On stage, for the first time in an Italian comedy show, you'll see incredibly innovative and immersive 3D technology. It's something I don't even see at a Coldplay concert, and even if I did, they cost a lot more. Trust me, Capa Fresca is my biggest show since the last one..
Who has never heard the expression “tene' 'a capa fresca”? A Neapolitan saying that has become part of common parlance, jokingly referring to someone whose head is free from tiring and worrying thoughts, who is always ready to look at the funny side of everything that happens, who takes every opportunity to have fun and lighten the mood. Giovanni Vernia is like that and has always been like that. His father, originally from Puglia, never failed to repeat it to him: “Giovà, you keep your head cool."
Every distortion of this country, which passes through the “fresh head” of the comedian, is shaped and becomes a pretext for laughter: from healthcare to social hatred, from TV to the latest obsessions of Italians in terms of sports, entertainment, musical tastes, the most popular characters. Because, quoting the philosopher Nietzsche: “You can't laugh at everything, but you can try”. And all you need is the “Fresh Head”, like Giovanni.
