The Carabinieri of the Varcaturo Station have executed a precautionary custody order under house arrest, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples North at the request of this Prosecutor's Office, against a 54 year old woman of Giugliano.
The woman is seriously suspected of aggravated extortion, committed against a nun belonging to a congregation present in the area.
The investigation, led by the Public Prosecutor's Office of North Naples, has allowed—through witness accounts and detailed documentary evidence—to reconstruct how the 54-year-old, a co-worker at the school where the victim works, allegedly repeatedly demanded money from the victim, threatening to reveal personal circumstances to the religious authorities.

Extortion of several thousand euros and usufruct of an apartment
Through this threat, the arrested woman allegedly obtained the handover of several thousand euros, part of which was spent on the purchase of a car, subject to precautionary seizure as part of this order, as well as the lifelong usufruct of an apartment owned by the Congregation.
The 54-year-old was placed under house arrest at her home, pending her appearance before a judge.
