One person has been arrested in connection with the fire that destroyed the gazebo of a pizzeria in Naples last night, located in the pedestrian area of Via Scarlatti in the Vomero neighborhood. According to reports, the person is a former employee of the pizzeria.

The man's identification was made possible by analyzing video surveillance footage from the area. The investigation is being conducted by the State Police of the Vomero Police Station, in collaboration with the Carabinieri and the Naples Municipal Police, under the coordination of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office.

According to what emerged from the rapid investigations of the investigators, coordinated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, the motive cannot be traced back to either extortion requests from local clans or to rivalries between traders, but rather to an argument with a former employee.

"Last night, our headquarters in Vomero was hit by a fire that caused damage to the structure. We are facing an act of vandalism that will never dampen our enthusiasm and determination ," the owners of the Social pizzeria declared.

"We will continue to operate with the same carefree attitude and desire to have fun. We thank those who are thinking of us and all the authorities who have supported us." The first to respond to the fire at the gazebo on Via Scarlatti were municipal police officers from the Vomero Operational Unit , who were on patrol in Piazza Vanvitelli around 1:20 a.m. and noticed the fire developing.

The officers cordoned off the area, secured passers-by, and removed a person who was near the gazebo of a business adjacent to the one hit by the flames. Thanks to the immediate intervention of the Fire Department, the fire, which quickly spread throughout the entire structure, was put out, avoiding further damage to people or property.

Subsequently, the site was secured by the municipal civil protection. The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office was informed and the magistrate on duty ordered investigations, the removal of the fire debris and the acquisition of images recorded by the cameras present in the area. The police are currently working to establish the dynamics of the accident.
