A fire broke out during the night in Ottaviano, on Via Piazza, in the heart of the city. Part of an uninhabited building went up in flames, presumably hit by fireworks, which may have caused the blaze.
On site, the mayor Biagio Simonetti, who coordinated the first interventions together with the city councilor Fiorella Saviano, awaiting the firefighters, who put out the flames.
"I thank the firefighters for their speed and efficiency: they prevented the fire from spreading and the situation from worsening," says Simonetti.
