New IT-alert experiment by Civil Protection: in Campania on January 24th and 25th

Testing of public warning system continues , relating to the phase dedicated to specific risk scenarios and on small and limited portions of territory. The first test phase of 2024 – informs the department of – will take place from 22 to 26 January, and the message sending tests will be carried out in part of the territories of twelve regions:

The experimental activity that will be implemented has a dual objective: to test It-alert on small and limited portions of territory and to encourage familiarization with receiving the message with text declined according to the specific risk and the area involved.

All this is part of the broader framework of the process of approaching the possible implementation of the public warning system, as foreseen by the directive of 7 February 2023. Finally for the nuclear accident scenario it will be: TEST TEST This is an IT-alert TEST MESSAGE. We are SIMULATING a nuclear accident in a plant located in a foreign country with potential repercussions in the area where you are. On the days of the tests, the homepage of the site will provide access to a dedicated page where it will be possible to view the text of the message that citizens would receive in the event of real danger for that particular risk and information on the specific case. The homepage will also contain a link to the questionnaire that, as for the previous tests, all those who will be in the territories involved will be invited to fill out to help implement the system.

The Alert Calendar

Those who, despite being in the area affected by the test, do not receive any IT-alert notification, can fill it out anyway to report this lack. The test message will arrive on the switched-on cell phones with a telephone connection of those who are in the target areas, according to the following schedule:

25st January, 12:00 noon major accident in industrial plants; Basilicata region – Eni Spa, Viggiano, Grumento Nova (PZ); Friuli-Venezia Giulia region – Rir-Gala logistica Srl, Visco, Aiello del Friuli, Palmanova, San Vito al Torre (UD). Collapse of large dams; Campania region – Presenzano Dam – Amorosi, Dugenta, Faicchio, Limatola, Melizzano, Puglianello (BN); Ailano, Alife, Alvignano, Baia and Latina, Bellona, ​​Caiazzo, Capua, Castel Campagnano, Castel Morrone, Dragoni, Gioia Sannitica, Piana di Monte Verna, Pietravairano, Pontelatone, Pratella, Presenzano, Raviscanina, Ruviano, Sant'Angelo d'Alife and Vairano Patenora (CE);
