Among the guests who will inaugurate the 2024 activities are the fantasy expert Massimo Gerardo Carrese, Marco Marino editor of the publishing house il Saggiatore and the illustrator Giovanni Colaneri
A new cultural reality opens for the city of Caserta and it is called LABIS whose acronym stands for Laboratori Arte Biblioteca Inclusioni Scoperte. It opens on Saturday 13 January with a party in via Tanucci 77, the headquarters of the association, and presents to the city a structured program of meetings, workshops, presentations.

It starts at 10:30, with a reading and poetry workshop by bookseller Cinzia Crisci (Che Storia) and primary school teacher Michela Savoia. From 16:30 the activities are aimed at children and adults. LABIS president Rita Crisci presents the founding members and the 2024 cultural activities and inaugurates the IllustraMENTI exhibition dedicated to memory and hospitality, which can be visited free of charge until February 25.
This will be followed by a meeting with Giovanni Colaneri, illustrator and author of the book "What is a Syndrome?" published by Uovonero. This illustrated book explores a complex question for which there are no immediate answers. This will be followed by a hands-on workshop for children led by Teresa Tartaglione: a sensory journey to create a dreamcatcher out of sugar paste. At 18:30 PM, LABIS will meet with fantasist Massimo Gerardo Carrese, author of the recently published book "The Great Book of Fantasy" by Il Saggiatore. Together with Il Saggiatore editor Marco Marino, he will discuss the histories and characteristics of fantasy, imagination, and creativity. The opening day will conclude with a toast and cake. During the day, it will be possible to sign up for the 2024 LABIS Membership Card.
All scheduled activities are free and accessible until seats are filled.
