On January 10, German border authorities arrested an Italian citizen born in 1986, originally from Naples , in Kiefersfelden , Germany.
The man was being sought by the Formia Carabinieri Company following a burglary that occurred in April 2022 against a 55-year-old man from Gaeta, in which the "punctured tire" method was used.
In April of the previous year, thanks to the timely intervention of the Mobile Radio Operations Unit (NORM) of the Formia Carabinieri Company , both the individual and his accomplice, an Italian born in 1992 also originally from Naples, had been identified and reported at large with a request for appropriate precautionary measures.
However, further investigation revealed that the two had committed several thefts with the same modus operandi on April 20, 2022.
The investigations, conducted in collaboration with the Cassino Public Prosecutor's Office, led to the issuing of a precautionary custody order under house arrest for both individuals on May 27, 2022. However, at the time the order was executed, the thirty-eight-year-old had disappeared, having been declared a fugitive by the Cassino Court.
The investigations were then transferred to the Operations Section of the Formia Company and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cassino. In-depth investigations confirmed that the man had taken refuge in Germany, carrying out street vending activities.

The seriousness of the situation was brought to the attention of the Deputy Public Prosecutor, who requested the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant. The proceedings may then be held at the Court of Cassino, where the individual will have to answer to the charges brought against him.
