This night, shortly after 02.00, he arrived at the Operations Centre of the Carabinieri Company of Maddaloni the alarm signal emitted by the intrusion detection system of the Post Office in Via Carmagnano, in that centre.
The response of the patrol from the Operational and Mobile Radio Unit of the local Company was immediate and the soldiers arrived at the reported address within a few minutes.
The criminals, still busy forcing the rear entrance door of the Post Office, gave up their intent as soon as they noticed the arrival of the Carabinieri, leaving immediately and losing their tracks in the streets of the city centre.
On site, the carabinieri recovered all the equipment with which the fugitives were carrying out the robbery. In addition to burglary tools, such as screwdrivers 27 and 33 cm long, a mallet, wire cutters, crowbar and crowbar.
The military recovered a trolley containing a sophisticated jammer system equipped with 12 antennas and a cable with battery terminals, used as a deterrent for communication and alarm systems. Apparently, however, the equipment that should have allowed them to act undisturbed was unable to keep the carabinieri away.
The images extracted from the video surveillance systems present on site are currently being acquired. Investigations underway by the soldiers of the Maddaloni Company.
