The mayor of NAPLES, Gaetano Manfredi, visited the headquarters of the 'Mani Tese' association in Piazza Cavour, which was vandalized in recent days. "This is a very important, historic organization," said Manfredi, "which operates in the highly significant sector of fair trade. The administration is fully supportive, and together we will see what we can do to ensure that this very negative episode can instead become an opportunity for revitalization and recovery."
The mayor explained that the square is the subject of a redevelopment project that will soon begin, linked to the redevelopment of the station by FS. This project is financed with PNRR funds and must therefore be completed by 2026. "We are paying close attention to this area," the mayor emphasized, "and FS should begin work soon on the station's renovation, which will also allow for the complete redevelopment of the area, which has long suffered from various problems and the presence of homeless people."
The mayor explained that Piazza Cavour could adopt the model being implemented in Piazza Garibaldi for participatory management of the area, "with a social partnership," he emphasized, "where on one side there is obviously the presence of the institution and on the other the social and productive realities of the area."
