Open-air landfills continue to proliferate in the Neapolitan area.
The umpteenth one was reported by citizens to the deputy of the Green Left alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
It is found at Miano, between the Bellavia bridge and the Capodimonte forest and is a receptacle of cans, plastic bottles, paper and various rubbish.
"Yet another area transformed into a garbage dump by bivouacs. We have therefore requested an urgent cleanup intervention," says Borrelli. "However, the problem is not only environmental and decorum-related, but also a social one: more and more people are proving incapable of living by the rules and respecting the land and others. This is why it is necessary and proper to intervene with firmness, determination, and severity to stop these devastations and those who cause them. We need more controls, but above all, tougher measures and more firmness in their implementation. It has been tolerated far too much."
