Luis Vasquez, better known as The Soft Moon, passed away on Friday, January 19, along with techno producer Juan Mendez (Silent Servant) and his partner Simone Ling.
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but the Los Angeles County coroner says it could be related. Some media are speculating an accident, while others are talking about an overdose. The bodies were found in a home in Los Angeles.
Luis Vasquez, known as Soft Moon, was 39 at the time of his death. He had supported acts such as Mogwai and Depeche Mode on tours and had released five albums. Vasquez lived in Oakland until 2013, before moving to Italy to record his third album “Deeper” with producer Maurizio Baggio.
After living in Berlin, he also maintained a home in Los Angeles. His death was announced on his social media, along with a request for privacy for his family and friends.
