The Carabinieri of the Montesarchio Company, together with the financial police of the judicial police section of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento, proceeded last night with the arrest of a 57-year-old entrepreneur from Montesarchio and the reporting of his 47-year-old brother at large.
Both were found responsible for aggravated usury in conjunction with the detriment of a 53-year-old man, manager of a commercial business.
The investigation stemmed from a complaint filed by the victim, who revealed that, during the pandemic, due to financial difficulties, he had requested a loan of approximately €10. However, he was forced to repay a total of approximately €31 over the course of several months, with interest charges far exceeding the legal limit.

The operation was carried out during the delivery of yet another loan installment, when the 57-year-old showed up to collect the money. The Carabinieri stopped him, recovered the money, and arrested him.

By order of the prosecutor, the 57-year-old was placed under house arrest. His 47-year-old brother was also implicated in the affair and was reported at large. The recovered money was returned to the victim.
