The youngest of the three, artist Giorgio Zito, was 74 years old.
Musician Giorgio Zito Bennato, younger brother of singer-songwriters Eduardo and Eugenio, died suddenly in his home in Naples.
The news was spread on Facebook by Eugenio who remembered him with a few touching words: “Goodbye Giorgio, the youngest of us three, the wisest of us three” , posting some images of his brother including one of the three Bennatos in football kit.
And it was in a trio that the brothers had made their debut at a very young age: Giorgio played benjo and percussion, he was also a sound engineer (he had worked with Eduardo for the album La Torre di babele). Founder of the rock group Diesel, he had chosen his mother's surname for his artistic career and also participated in the thirtieth edition of the Sanremo festival in 1980 with the song 'Ma vai, vai'.
With his brothers he created Edizioni Musicali 55 and then Cheyenne records. Among the first to express his condolences to the family was director Giorgio Verdelli. The three Bennatos sang the song 'Domani' together in 2017.
