The uncivilized and unhealthy habit of celebrating New Year's Eve in Naples and its province, as well as in other parts of Southern Italy, with gunshots, unfortunately occurred again last night.
With serious consequences: three women injured, two of whom are in serious condition. The bulletin states that the most serious is a 45-year-old woman from Afragola who was injured by a stray bullet last night, during the New Year's Eve celebrations.
The Carabinieri of the Vomero company, alerted by 112, intervened at the Cardarelli hospital in Napoli where the woman was taken. The victim, according to an initial reconstruction, was hit by the stray bullet while celebrating with relatives inside a house in via del Plebiscito, in Afragola. The lady is in serious condition and in danger of life.
A second incident occurred in Forcella, where a woman was injured while watching the New Year's fireworks display from her balcony. According to reports, she was struck in the abdomen by a stray bullet.
