A 17-year-old boy was stabbed by a group of youths in the Galleria Umberto in Napoli, two months after the terrible attack.
The victim's mother has decided to seek justice for her son by turning to Alleanza Verdi Sinistra MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli. Although the attackers have been identified and charged, the woman complains that they are still free to roam the city as if nothing had happened, while her son struggles to recover from the attack.
The mother is exhausted and finds it unfair that those responsible can enjoy freedom while her son suffers. The family demands justice and hopes that the guilty will be punished as they deserve. Deputy Borrelli spoke out on the issue, calling it unacceptable that the victims are left alone to face their own drama while the guilty live their lives without signs of repentance.
“Although the attackers have been identified and they have also been notified of the serious charges for which they are co-defendants – Mrs. Paudice explains – nothing has happened yet. My son is psychologically destroyed and has not yet recovered from that terrible night and no longer wants to go out alone like all his peers do, while his tormentors roam freely around the city posting videos on social media, without any sign of repentance for what they have done.
The last time I spoke to our lawyer last week, he assured me that everything was going well. But we are tired of waiting and we find it unfair that these criminals continue their lives as if nothing had happened while my son desperately fights to get his life back. Francesco will soon turn 18 and the gift I would like him to receive is precisely that of regaining faith in justice and in the community”.
“Francesco and his family must have justice as soon as possible – Borrelli declared. It is unacceptable that the victims are left alone with their dramas by the State while the executioners continue to freely lead their lives without any sign of repentance or even reflection on what they have committed.
At this rate we run the serious risk that citizens will increasingly lose confidence in justice and the State. We will continue to follow Francesco's story until justice is done and his attackers are punished as they deserve. Only by serving the right sentence can there be the beginning of a true repentance. Otherwise, a very wrong and misleading signal will be given to hundreds of young people at risk in our city".
