IThe Municipality of Naples has blocked new requests for land occupation for tables, chairs and umbrellas by bars, restaurants and cafes, pending the implementation of the national extension provided for by Law 214 of 30 December 2023.
This extension has extended access to the simplified procedure for occupations of public land until December 31, 2024. However, at the moment the Municipality has not yet adopted the national law, so the applications sent are all suspended, along with the related payment slips.
The national law, confirming the extensions introduced during the Covid19 period, imposes the obligation to implement the rule at the municipal level to avoid fines and seizures by the local police.
At the moment, the Municipality of Naples is working on the issue, preparing the administrative acts necessary to implement the national extension. However, there is no particular concern as the expired authorizations still have 90 days for ratification.
