Ilaria Abagnale, mayor of Sant'Antonio Abate and councilor of the Metropolitan City of Naples with responsibility for Equal Opportunities, announced that on Tuesday she will take over the baton for the Metropolitan City of Naples, designated Capital of Kindness for the entire year 2024.
The official award transfer ceremony will take place at the Reggia di Portici, tomorrow, Tuesday 30 January, at 9:30, in the Sala Cinese. The metropolitan area of Naples and the Municipalities adhering to the Network of Single Guarantee Committees will be the National Capital of Costruiamo Gentilezza 2024, together with the Municipalities of Daunia.
Ilaria Abagnale emphasized that this recognition will allow the Metropolitan City of Naples and the participating Municipalities to promote equal opportunities, fight discrimination and encourage dialogue between administrations. The Costruiamo Gentilezza Project was born to spread kind practices and make them a widespread habit, through people who act as social activators with the aim of increasing the well-being of citizens.
During the event, Ilaria Abagnale will receive the baton from Giulia Negri, Councilor for Kindness of the City of Novara, Capital for 2023. The initiatives promoted by the entities adhering to the Costruiamo Gentilezza project will also be presented and a purple bench will be installed in the citrus grove of the Reggia di Portici. In Sant'Antonio Abate, the Parco della Gentilezza was lit up in purple in celebration of the recognition obtained from the Metropolitan City of Naples.
