About 850 participants and 50 already ready to sign employment contracts. This is the result of the three days dedicated by the Department of Labor of the Municipality of Napoli at the intersection of labor supply and demand, which represented an important opportunity to create synergies between job seekers and employment agencies.
The initiative was launched with the aim of facilitating connections between qualified and inexperienced human resources and available career opportunities. The event, held at the end of December at the Albergo dei Poveri, attracted significant participation, with numerous employment agencies and unemployed individuals from a variety of professional fields in attendance.
The days featured a series of activities, including workshops, seminars, and presentations from participating agencies. These opportunities allowed the unemployed to gain detailed information on available job opportunities and better understand the needs of the labor market.
The sectors with particular focus were: construction, mechanical engineering, personal services, entertainment and events, and tourism. The areas that received the highest number of applications were tourism and personal and business services. The age range of participants was extremely diverse, from those just turning 50 to those over 65; female participation was very high, approximately XNUMX percent of participants.
About a hundred users belonging to protected categories also participated. Less than 20 percent of users are recipients of citizen income. Educational qualifications: 20 percent middle school diploma, 40 percent high school diploma and 40 percent degree or higher specialization.
"In such a delicate economic climate, with rising poverty, it is essential to create favorable conditions for new and healthy employment. There are certain sectors in which it is worth investing, considering the city's rebirth. Therefore, I reiterate my invitation to entrepreneurs to participate in a healthy and proactive manner in the opportunities we are creating," commented Mayor Gaetano Manfredi.
"The three days of meetings organized by the City of Naples together with the Local Public Authorities were a great opportunity for our fellow citizens," said Chiara Marciani, Councilor for Labor. "Some users have already received concrete job opportunities, and we hope many more will soon receive them."
Many highly qualified individuals, thanks to the initiative's partner companies, have been included in further personnel selection processes. "We hope," he added, "to be able to repeat this initiative on a regular basis in 2024 to provide concrete support to job seekers, enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors."
"A special thanks goes to the boys and girls and their teachers at the Galiani Institute who participated in the initiative, helping to welcome users," he concluded.
