The narcos imported drugs from Holland and Spain thanks to a system of couriers equipped with cars with sophisticated hideouts. Cocaine with the brand of "Chapo" or with the Infinito brand but also Amnesia.
The management of drug trafficking was in the hands of the clans of Marano and SecondiglianoOne of the groups was led by Vincenzo Della Monica, who also used an ambulance to transport the drugs without arousing suspicion. The ambulance driver wore the typical 118 emergency responder uniform and a mask that covered his face.
The ambulance's movements—as stated in the order—did not raise any great suspicions because a Croce Italia Flegrea warehouse/headquarters is located nearby. Using the ambulance to move the drugs was a well-known ploy of one of the gang's leaders, Vincenzo Della Monica.
Investigations revealed that Della Monica was planning to use the ambulance to 'secure' the drugs and deliver them to their destination, the criminal gang's 'support' facilities.
The other group was led by Simone Bartiromo, Roberto Merolla, and Giovanni Cortese. Drug trafficker Bruno Carbone, arrested in Dubai in November 2022, was the international contact for the two groups.
How traffic worked
The two groups were involved in importing large quantities of cocaine and hashish from the Netherlands and Spain. The drugs were then transported to Italy using various methods, including ambulances.
Once in Italy, drugs were distributed in the drug dealing areas of Naples and its hinterland, including the Parco Verde in Caivano, Scampia, Marianella, Castello di Cisterna, Rione 2019, Parco della 99 within Rione Terra in Pozzuoli and, on a weekly basis, also in the drug dealing areas of Taranto.
The investigations
The Carabinieri investigation began in 2022 and allowed them to reconstruct the entire international drug trafficking chain.

Investigators used traditional and innovative investigative techniques, such as monitoring encrypted messaging apps.
In particular, they monitored the conversations of Bruno Carbone, who used the messaging app Encrochat with the nickname "Biaste", as did his business partner the supernarcos Raphael ImperialIn those chats, the suspects had also discussed the need to 'get rid of' a shipment of 'adidas' and '777' drugs because they were 'not of the highest quality'.
The precautionary measures carried out by the Carabinieri are the following:
12 arrests in prison;
14 house arrests;
3 residence obligations.
Among those arrested are also the two leaders of the criminal groups, Vincenzo Della Monica and Simone Bartiromo.
The first group, at the top of which, according to investigators, were Vincenzo Della Monica, Salvatore Della Monica and Michele Nacca, was in contact with Carbone while the drug broker was in Dubai. Prominent elements of the second group, instead, were Simone Bartiromo, Roberto Merolla and Giovanni Cortese.
