They specialized in robberies using the break-in technique. A gang of 4 well-organized people with powerful cars that committed 18 robberies last year.
They were looking for different targets but according to their “investigations” they could yield huge loot such as pharmacies, post offices but also jewelry stores. All concentrated between the provinces of Naples and Caserta.
And so, thanks to an investigation that began in August last year, the Carabinieri broke up the gang by arresting a citizen of Roma origin and three Italians living between Mondragone, Castel Volturno and Casal di Principe.
According to the investigations, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, the robberies earned the gang a good 200 thousand euros, to which must be added the damages caused to the various victims of the robberies.
On August 22nd, after a theft was committed at the Cesa post office, the investigation began. Some bandits, wearing gloves and balaclavas, arrived in a stolen car and broke down the front door, stealing everything they could get in a short time, especially bills of exchange and other securities.
This was one of the many robberies committed in the last months of 2023 by the bandit group, whose actions have caused great concern among the population, especially for the technique used. For example, in Grazzanise, a jewelry store was hit, where the bandits broke the entrance glass and entered the store with their car, managing to steal jewelry worth 70-80 thousand euros.
The Carabinieri of the operational section of the Aversa Company, under the guidance of the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, analyzed the images from the surveillance cameras of commercial establishments and those installed along the public road.
They conducted traditional investigative services, such as tailing and stakeouts, and were able to identify the gang members. The gang always used more or less the same technique to enter the premises to rob, and the bandits almost always used stolen license plates to put on the vehicle with which they arrived at the crime scene.
The Carabinieri also discovered that one of the four bandits had been wanted for almost two years following a conviction issued by the Court of Napoli for crimes against property.
