The "Pope Francis Laundry" was inaugurated in Naples, a service managed by the Community of Sant'Egidio at the House of Friendship, behind the Church of SS Filippo and Giacomo in Via San Biagio dei Librai.
Benedetta Ferone, head of the homeless services at the Community of Sant'Egidio, explains that the center will be open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and will offer not only washing machines and dryers, but also showers, legal assistance, and medical services.
The laundromat becomes a point of reference for those seeking help and a place where those who want to help can contribute.

The project, called "Pope Francis' Laundry", is carried out with the contribution of companies such as Procter & Gamble Italy, which supplies the necessary products.
Richard Calvi, communications director for Procter & Gamble Italy, explains that the collaboration with the Papal Charities began in 2015, leading to the creation of places that offer important services to people's lives, such as personal hygiene and laundry services. The laundromat opened first in Rome, then in Genoa and Turin, and now in Naples, with the next one planned for Catania.
