The special company of the Municipality of Napoli for the integrated water cycle, ABC, has completed the work on Via Manzoni and returned the road section to the Municipality of Naples, which has proceeded with the reopening. Traffic has now returned to normal with the restoration of traffic in the lane that leads from Via Manzoni towards Vomero, previously closed. These works were necessary due to the collapse of the sewer channel on January 16, caused by the insertion of a private pipeline into the main channel.
During the intervention, ABC operators identified “further functional and structural anomalies” caused by another private condominium located in via Manzoni. To prevent potential future damage to the city's water infrastructure, ABC took precautionary charge of cleaning, re-functionalization, repair and safety of this private inlet as well, operating inside the sewer collector.
ABC emphasized that the entire intervention in Via Manzoni was carried out without interruptions in the water supply to the area and citizens. The operators and the company created a bypass system to ensure continuous water supply without having to interrupt the service. The company returned Via Manzoni after also completing the road surface restoration work. In the coming days, as usual, an additional layer of asphalt will be applied as a final finish.
