On January 31st, at 18 pm, at LaFeltrinelli in Naples in Chiaia, the presentation of the book “Napoli Greca” by Teresa Tauro, published by Intra Moenia, will take place.
This event will feature distinguished speakers: Alfredo Bucaro, Professor of History of Architecture at Federico II; Stefano De Caro, former Director General of the International Center for the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage; and Bruno Discepolo, Councilor for Territorial Government-Urban Planning of the Campania Region, with Anna Copertino as moderator.
The book offers a detailed and scientifically accurate exploration of the origins of Neapolis, the Greek colony that gave birth to modern Naples. The author describes with precision the original urban structure of the city, from its acropolis to the agora, passing through walls, gates and streets, presenting it as a model of an ideal city of its time, steeped in philosophy, astronomy, geometry and arithmetic.
In addition to being a historical narrative, the work also serves as a tourist guide, allowing readers to discover Greek Naples. Through a narrated walk and the use of QR-Codes included in the second part of the book, you can admire an architectural heritage unique for its state of conservation and integrity.
Maurizio de Giovanni, in his contribution to the book, invites us to observe the city closely, underlining the twenty-five century journey that Naples has undertaken, a journey that continues even today.
The event will also be attended by Sergio Siano, photojournalist for Il Mattino and author of the photographs in the book “Napoli Greca”.
Author Teresa Tauro, an architect and researcher with a long-standing collaboration with the Superintendency, the Archdiocese and the Municipality of Naples, will be present.
Expert in Monumental Restoration, Archaeological Restoration and Surveying and Museum Installations, Tauro has a deep knowledge of the history of Neapolis and its origins, the result of her work in the main archaeological sites of Naples and the Phlegraean Fields.
