A 34-year-old man, resident in Casoria, was arrested for the theft of a cell phone.
During a territorial control operation, the officers of the Vicaria-Mercato and San Carlo Arena Police Station were approached in Piazza Enrico De Nicola by a woman who reported that her phone had been stolen by a man who, on a scooter, had fled in the direction of Via Foria.
Thanks to the detailed information provided, the police located the man on Via Crocelle in Porte San Gennaro. When the officers appeared, the man attempted to escape by speeding towards Via Foria.
After a long chase, characterized by dangerous maneuvers on the road, the officers stopped him in via Stadera, discovering that he had in his possession 5 cell phones, of which he was unable to provide a plausible explanation as to the origin.
The 34-year-old from Casoria was arrested for theft and reported for receiving stolen goods. In addition, the two-wheeled vehicle used to commit the crime was seized, and the driver was charged with three violations of the Highway Code, relating to driving without a license, lack of insurance coverage and failure to have a periodic inspection. The cell phone was returned to its rightful owner.
