The legal case involving the former culture councilor Eleonora de Majo and the former councilor of the third municipality Egidio Giordanor, investigated for an alleged bid-rigging in the selection of the statue to be dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona out of the stadium named after the Argentine footballer, closes definitively today.
Both have received a request for archiving from the Public Prosecutor's Office Napoli, later confirmed by the GIP. This request demonstrates that there were no illicit or shady conducts in their involvement in the commission charged with judging the works, composed of authoritative exponents of culture, sport, journalism and popular fans.
During the investigation, a search of their homes led to the discovery of fireworks. However, this morning, de Majo and Giordano were acquitted of possession of explosives.
