They stole two hundred meters of electrical cables from a company located in the industrial center of Nusco, in the province of Avellino, but they were intercepted by a patrol of the Carabinieri while they were fleeing on board a car.
When the military appeared, the thieves fled into the surrounding countryside, managing to escape thanks to the thick vegetation in the area and disappearing without a trace. The stolen goods were later returned to the owner of the company.
The car used for the getaway has been seized and will be subjected to investigations. The hunt for the thieves continues by the Carabinieri who have recovered fingerprints in the car and are now trying to trace the fugitives.
