The Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino has entrusted the task of carrying out the autopsy on the body of Giuseppe Tirone, 51 years old from Cervinara, who according to the Public Prosecutor had been doused with petrol and set on fire by Massimo Passariello, 38 years old from Cervinara, defended by the lawyers Vittorio Fucci and Domenico Cioffi.
Passariello was arrested for attempted murder aggravated by cruelty and futile motives, but although the arrest was not validated by the investigating judge, who accepted the objection of the lawyer Vittorio Fucci and the lawyer Domenico Cioffi, Passariello was arrested again following the issuing of an independent order by the investigating judge Paolo Cassano, who considered the particular gravity of the fact.
Tirone was first admitted to the Benevento civil hospital and then transported by helicopter to the Cardarelli in Naples, where he died 12 days later. Following his death and on the hypothesis of the new charge of murder, the Prosecutor's Office has assigned Professor Giuseppe Buonocore and Professor Oscar Nappi to carry out the utopian examination.
The questions posed by the Prosecutor's Office have been integrated with those requested by the lawyers Vittorio Fucci and Domenico Cioffi, with the assistance of the medical consultants of the party Dr. Teresa Suero and Dr. Pierluigi Vergineo in the interest of the defendant Passariello and in particular the questions proposed by the lawyers Fucci and Cioffi are related to the possible reasons that do not allow to consider the causal link between the conduct of Passariello and the death of Tirone, therefore, on the existence of autonomous causes that, independently of the conduct of Passariello, occurred in the 12 days following, determining the death of Tirone. The results of the autopsy will be made known in the next few days. In the meantime, Tirone's body has been released and the funeral has also taken place with a Catholic rite.
