Health worker attacked in Nocera Inferiore: Fials Salerno sentenced

While on duty, a healthcare worker was the victim of a physical assault, sustaining injuries that required an eight-day prognosis and causing a profound state of fear.

Fials Salerno has firmly denounced the incident, condemning the latest episode of violence which occurred on January 8th in the Pediatrics department of the hospital Lower Nocera. The trade union expresses solidarity with the worker involved and emphasizes that acts of violence of this kind cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

Fials Salerno highlights that these episodes are not isolated, but are part of a growing social alarm that endangers the safety of healthcare personnel in the workplace.

Violence, aggression and threats have become a sad daily reality, requiring immediate and decisive interventions. Fials has repeatedly requested the presence of a police squad to guarantee the safety of workers, but so far the request has remained unanswered.

The provincial secretary general, Carlo Lopopolo, said that it is essential to ensure a safe working environment so that health professionals can carry out their activities without putting their lives and safety at risk.

The union has contacted the management of the Nocera hospital and the Salerno Local Health Authority, requesting an urgent meeting to address the health emergency, define care processes, and implement concrete solutions.

In particular, Fials highlighted the difficulties in the pediatric emergency room, where staff must manage a high number of daily admissions, and called for the prompt intervention of political forces to resolve the situation.
