In an incident that occurred this morning at the Cotugno hospital in Napoli, a healthcare worker and a nurse were the target of an assault.
The association Hands Off Ippocrates reported the incident, noting that this is the eighth attack since the beginning of the year, involving the city of Naples and several municipalities in the province. According to reports, the attacker was the relative of a recently deceased patient.
Specifically, the nurse was kicked, while the healthcare worker was slapped.

Fortunately, the two operators are in good condition, and despite the accident, they remained at their posts. Law enforcement was promptly notified of the incident.
Just two days ago, a roundtable discussion was held at the Prefecture dedicated to the phenomenon of assaults on healthcare workers. The meeting concluded with the decision to establish patrols in two hospitals and to strengthen surveillance at all facilities, in order to combat this worrying series of violent incidents.
