The life sentence for the femicide of Ornella Pinto was confirmed in the second degree trial which concluded today.
Pinotto Iacomino, the man who killed his ex-partner in front of their 13-year-old son on March 2021, 3, has been found guilty again. The Naples Court of Assizes of Appeal upheld the first-instance verdict issued in May 2022.
During the trial, a provisional award was made in favor of the sister Stefania, who acts as guardian of the orphaned child. The Court also confirmed the compensations towards the relatives, who joined as civil parties, and towards the Polis Foundation. The tragic femicide occurred in the area of San Carlo Arena, in the center of Naples.

Last November, the Naples Attorney General's Office had requested that Iacomino's life sentence be confirmed on appeal.
The man was accused of fatally stabbing the teacher, his former partner, during a violent argument. According to police investigations, Iacomino allegedly inflicted at least 13 stab wounds with a kitchen knife recovered from a family-owned guesthouse.
