Pasquale Sesso, a member of the Sesso criminal family linked to the Mazzarella clan, was killed last July 5 in Naples for his rebellion against the Elia clan. Indeed, a real challenge between Camorra families.
He wanted more autonomy and, above all, he no longer wanted to pay the Elia clan of the Santa Lucia ball club, now in disgrace and decimated by arrests and convictions, the bribes for stolen Rolex watches, in particular for the one stolen from a tourist last June in the Santa Lucia area.
The murder took place in broad daylight, while Sesso was riding a scooter and was passing in front of the home of Gennaro Belaeff, believed to be linked to the Elia clan.
The investigations of the Naples Flying Squad have allowed them to reconstruct the dynamics of the murder. Sesso and Belaeff had already had disagreements in the past, in particular due to Sesso's failure to pay bribes to the Elia clan.
Pasquale Sesso had decided to challenge the Elia clan
The murder occurred when Sesso, aware of the danger he was running, decided to challenge the Elia clan and stop paying the bribes.
The Flying Squad managed to stop Belaeff a few hours after the murder, finding on him a gun compatible with the one used to kill Sesso. Furthermore, the images from the video surveillance systems and the analysis of the chats found on the suspect's cell phone confirmed his guilt.
Shortly before the murder of Pasquale Sesso, his brother Luigi Sesso had also been the target of an ambush but came out alive. The Sesso brothers, four in all, one of whom died – and several reported for drug dealing – are considered professional robbers of high-end watches even at an international level, so much so that Gennaro Sesso is classified by Europol as a “Target High Value”, a code reserved for high-caliber criminals.
