Roma Fan Loses Ear After Being Hit by Firecracker During Derby

A 28-year-old man underwent ear ablation and is hospitalized after being hit on the head by a firecracker thrown from the Tevere stand of the Olympic Stadium in Rome, before the kick-off of the derby between Lazio e Roma di Coppa Italia played yesterday.

According to what LaPresse has learned, the 28-year-old Roma fan was sitting in the stands of the South distinguished sector when he was injured. The police, through footage from the internal video surveillance cameras of the Olympic Stadium, are reconstructing the dynamics of the 28-year-old's injury.

Hit in the head by a firecracker, he lost his ear and is hospitalized with a prognosis of 60 days. The person responsible for the launch could be identified within the next few hours. The charges under investigation involve grievous bodily harm, which carries a penalty of up to 12 years in prison.
