Not only that, but the local Camorra group also imposed the sale of contraband cigarettes. This coercion reached its peak during the Scudetto celebrations of Napoli last year when the Fuorigrotta neighborhood was crossed by tens of thousands of fans and tourists not only on the days of the Azzurri football matches.
This morning, however, the Carabinieri arrested four people who were essentially the clan's tax collectors, those who went around asking for, demanding, and collecting the protection money from shopkeepers. The enforcement was carried out under the threat of weapons.
